Architecture Photography

Saturday 21 September
Downtown, Jacksonville - 5pm - 2 Hours
Jacksonville Photography Group
Kimberly Halbrook
Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

I have been really enthralled by the beauty and intelligence of crows and other corvids for the past few years. I like to choose poses that feel metaphorical in some way and this one is about being prepared and ready to accomplish the goals you have set for yourself.

Title or Location: My old Hollywood apartment
I drew this portrait of Dali, back when I was in high school. Class of 2010... He made me a really great, and popular artist, back in those years of life. Got me a bunch of under the table commissions, from mostly all teachers and staff of the school. Also, got me local recognition, in downtown Hollywood FL, when my art teacher started displaying him in city art shows, to represent our schools art education. Anc currently in hangs up in my living room.

These three characters are from my upcoming graphic novel ?Fungo: The Legend of Cep? .It?s an all-ages 179 pages graphic novel (large comic book) fully illustrated traditionally by me. I am currently working on this project with my co-creator and writer, Jarrett Melendez, and it will be published through Andrews McMeel Publishing. This story follows our unlikely hero, Cep (far right) and his adventure through a magical world with mushroom like beings and dastardly frogs!

Title or Location: Under the Surface
Under the Surface comes from that deep childhood fear that something lurks beneath the surface of all water. I used to imagine all sorts of deep sea monsters lurking in all types of water as a child. Now a days the monsters prove to still be swimming in the depths of my imagination.

Title or Location: Wisteria
This artwork painted from a free reference photo shows the beauty of Wisteria in green pastures. I love the simplicity and beauty of everyday life with the flowers that bloom around us and nature that always gives. In our busy lives, we often forget to stop and smell the roses. I'd like to bring forth so many things we should be thankful for, hoping to bring smiles to everyone who sees my art.

Title or Location: Lilly
The beauty of watercolor pigments is that they are very versatile. Some colors are transparent, others are opaque. Some stain, others do not. Some even have granulating properties.?When watercolors are used without too much dilution, they create solid layers of color that completely cover up anything underneath. This piece demonstrates the opaque characteristics of certain pigments. Lilly was painted as a gift for a very fine gentleman who is also my friend.

My two sons both moved to Arizona for work and we missed them so much we immediately began trying to create a path for us to move to the Phoenix area. This painting was an attempt to paint desert themed flora to feel closer to them. We now live in a suburb of Phoenix and love the unique beauty found in the desert!
